The Equalities and Diversity Team at WCC recently commissioned the Observatory to complete a series of Equality and Diversity Profiles for Warwickshire. These cover the county as a whole as well as each of the five districts and boroughs.
The profiles bring together, in one place, data covering the main equalities characteristics (Gender, Age, Ethnic Group, Religion, Disability and Sexual Orientation) as well as information on non-UK born residents, languages spoken and general health status.
The profiles will provide insight into the make up of the county’s communities and assist policy and service development to fit with local need.
Belinda Blake, WCC’s Senior Equality and Diversity Advisor noted that the profiles will “will help the council work towards their responsibilities under the Equality Act 2010 and help make sure we are meeting the diverse needs of our staff and customers and that our processes, services and procedures are appropriate for all”
Each of the data profiles is available below. In addition, a summary Equality and Diversity paper has been produced to provide a more visual interpretation of the data and to highlight some key messages on this topic for the county.
